Democratic incumbent Senator Kelly Kultala  is running against conservative republican Steve Fitzgerald in Kansas’ 5th Senate District (Western Kansas City, KS; Leavenworth, Lansing, Edwardsville, Bonner Springs, & Ft. Leavenworth).

The Huffington Post just broke a story about Mr. Fitzgerld publicly stating that Democrats can’t be Christians because the values of Democrats are going to send us all to hell.

In a candidate survey earlier this year he also said that abortion was bad for business. Stating “It destroys customers and workers and leads to recession and illegal immigration,” Leavenworth Times, 7/27/12
