Phone call I just had.
Caller: Hi, I’d like to get involved with (candidate’s name)’s campaign
Me: Great! Would you like to knock doors or sign up to phone bank?
Caller: … actually I was hoping could help with yard signs.
Me: Oh… sure, how many would you like to help put up?
Caller: well I don’t want to help put any up I was hoping you could just come put one in my yard for me.
Me: oh ok, sure I’ll make sure you get one.
Caller: Thanks! I’m glad I could get involved, I hope (candidate’s name) wins!
Just FYI for everyone not involved with campaigns: Yard signs don’t vote. Letting us put a yard sign in your yard is great but it’s not the same as getting involved and really does nothing to help us win. If you really want to get involved and help then take a couple hours on a weeknight or weekend and knock some doors for us, or if you don’t want to knock door then volunteer to make some calls to voters. That type of volunteer work is endlessly helpful.
